Greg Smith Company Wins Excellence in Design Award
Falls Church, VA: Greg Smith Company was recently presented
the Excellence in Design Award by the Falls Church Village Preservation
and Improvement Society. The award was given for the renovation
of the Earman residence at 519 Greenwich Street in Falls Church.
The judges remarked that the "addition admirably maintains the
scale of the original house, was well crafted and respectful
of the existing house, and the extra effort of creating replicas
to match no longer available existing materials should be commended."
The Excellence in Design awards were presented at the Falls
Church Village Preservation and Improvement Society's 1999 annual
spring meeting. Awards were given in the categories of structure
and garden. The Excellence in Design program was established
in 1996 to recognize and reward exceptional residential, commercial
and landscape designs within the City of Falls Church.
