Giving Back to the Community
Since the late 1990s, Greg Smith has given a full week or two every year to help organize and run a youth camp with his church that identifies poor but deserving residents in Appalachia. Greg provides home repairs and improvements at no cost to residents while at the same time teaching the teenagers valuable life lessons and the joy of community service. Because of Greg’s profession, he not only helps teach the teens what to do, he also directs other adult volunteers. The Greg Smith Company also provides many of the tools for the kids' use.
Greg also continues his years of service volunteering twice a month to distribute food for a local food bank, as he has done for over 10 years.
Licensed and Insured and Legal
The Greg Smith Company is licensed to remodel homes and build custom homes in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. We also carry general business liability insurance, and workers comp insurance to protect you as well as our company. We require our specialty trade remodeling contractors to be licensed (where applicable) and to carry the appropriate business liability and workers comp insurance as well.
Additionally, we get building permits in our name for the work we do. This means that we – not homeowners – are responsible for our work passing inspections. We consistently meet or exceed applicable building codes to make sure your project passes all building code inspections before the project is completed.
