Greg
Smith Company performed extensive interior renovations to
restore the historic Herb Cottage at Washington National Cathedral.
Hired by All Hallows Guild, the caretaker of the structure,
Greg Smith Company was contracted to upgrade the communications,
heating and air conditioning systems, and to renovate the interior
of the original structure. The cottage was built in the 1900s
as the Cathedral Baptistry, and was transformed into the Herb
Cottage marketplace in 1934 by the All Hallows Guild. Herbs
and plants from the cathedral gardens have been sold there for
60 years, with proceeds from sales going to beautify and care
for the gardens and grounds of the 57-acre Cathedral Close. |
